What is the Timber Development Programme?
The Timber Development Programme(TDP) is a £1million initiative which aims to:
'...improve the timber supply chain to positively contribute to the sustainable development of Scotland's economy by enabling the timber growing and processing sectors to find the highest value and most appropriate end market for Scotland's timber.'
It will deliver 60 tasks between 2008 and 2011 through a series of partnerships between the forestry and research sectors, and will:
- facilitate innovative research to increase timber use in construction,
- improve market information to encourage investment, and
- support sustainable management of our forests to grow high quality timber.
