Partnerships and projects
Trees and woodlands can provide timber, a wonderful habitat for wildlife, a great place for a walk, contribute to marvellous landscapes and so more besides. The Forestry Commission can help provide these benefits through three broad means: on our own Public Forest Estate; through providing grants to others; through working in partnerships with other organisations. This section details some of those partnerships and projects that we are currently involved in. Active LifestylesThis section leads to a separate website that illustrates regional opportunities for physical, social and mental exercise for those of older age. Community ForestsGroundbreaking regeneration projects which to improve the quality of life and of the environment. Deer InitiativeA broad partnership dedicated to "ensuring the delivery of a sustainable, well-managed wild deer population in England and Wales ". Forest SchoolsOutdoor classrooms that bring learning to life, allowing children, young people and adults to explore and learn in a constructive way. Naturally ActiveA partnership website that contains information and advice for all those seeking to make more of their woodland assets through commercial recreation.
