Andrew Frost

Sketch for Andrew Frost's sculpture

After completing a BA (hons) in fine Art I became interested in working alongside nature and began work as a countryside ranger and a forester. In 1997 I felt my direction was to integrate fine art with my environmental experience, choosing to combine outdoor work with my creativity in the form of environmental sculptures, mostly with the sole use of a chainsaw. I have now been a professional wood sculptor for nine years. My work ranges from site specific public artworks to interpretative pieces and private commissions.

Design for Sculptree 2007: Yggdrasill - The World Tree

"The World had for its centre a great tree, called Yggdrasill. So huge was this tree that it's branches stretched out over heaven and Earth alike." From Gods and Myths of Northern Europe by H.R. Ellis Davidson.
