Neil Gow

Sketch for Neil Gow's sculpture

One of the original members of the Sculptree team, I started carving in my early 20s, mostly abstracts influenced by Hepworth and Moore. Later I developed my own style and criteria for design. From being a design engineer I became a full time sculptor in 2001. My work can be seen at Tintern Station, Biblins Bridge on the Wye and various places in Monmouthshire.

Design for Sculptree 2007: The Precious Buds of May

The Earth is precious for that which grows in or on it. The buds that burst forth in May. The design was developed from the bulb that produces the budding flower and the rose that climbs around.
