Westonbirt Arboretum Marketing Support Officer – Short Term Temporary Appointment
This is an exciting short term opportunity to support Westonbirt Arboretum’s busy Marketing and Communications team.
Based at Westonbirt Arboretum, the temporary position will cover the Marketing Support Officer role for a short term period (anticipated at 4-8 weeks, starting on or around 10 June 2013) and will report to the Communications Manager.

Pay band: 6a (£20623 – 23777 GBP)
Position type: This post is for 37 hours over a 7 day working week. The duties of the post require a flexible 7 day working week to allow for rostering on weekends, bank holidays and evenings (with the exception of Christmas Day).

Contract length: initially 4-8 weeks, with option to extend for further 4 weeks
Background Information
Alongside day-to-day communications with a variety of audiences, Westonbirt Arboretum organises and promotes several events and seasonal marketing/ communications campaigns throughout the year to encourage new and repeat visits.
The Communications and Marketing team also highlight arboricultural and horticultural events and knowledge at Westonbirt – such as the collection of plant seed from the wild, planting out into the collection and expertise on seasonal colour.
Exciting developments are also currently taking place through the Westonbirt Project – a fundraising and capital works plan to improve visitor arrival and experience. Westonbirt’s Marketing and Communications team work to engage visitors and other stakeholders with these changes via various channels.
Purpose of the Job
The Marketing Support Officer works with the Communications Manager to coordinate digital marketing and social media; coordinate the briefing and delivery of marketing material; support the Communications Manager with financial administration and liaise with tourism associations and group travel media/ organisations.
Key Work Areas
Digital marketing and social media:
• Social media – editing, monitoring and content management
• Websites editing via CMS systems
• Email marketing, newsletter creation and creating online audience surveys.
Coordination and delivery of marketing material:
• Design briefing, administration and project management
• Advertising administration
• Administer events listings database and local events listings materials
Finance:
• Financial administration for the Marketing and Communications team
Communication with external tourism providers:
• Tourism association networking
• National tourism and group travel marketing and advertising administration
