The Wilderness is a very important green space for the residents of Porthcawl and visitors who spend holidays in the town. The furniture and some of the pathways are in a poor state of repair and the copses and woodlands have never had proper management and are difficult to access and therefore enjoy.
Through this project we would be able to: raise awareness of the Wilderness as a community space, introduce management to the existing woodlands, undertake thinning and coppicing, reduce non-native species, upgrade and extend path network, fencing, seating and interpretation.
