Volunteering at the Huntly Peregrine Wild Watch

The quarry hide at Huntrly Peregrine Wild Watch centreWhy not volunteer to help out at the Huntly Peregrine Wild Watch centre?

There is a range of activities available for volunteers:

  • Work with visitors, help them to find out about peregrines and direct their viewing around the quarry
  • Update wildlife surveys
  • Site maintenance
  • Working with groups/children
  • Monitor recordings and editing of tapes

If required, we can help volunteers to develop an individual programme.  Students volunteering can use the centre for their studies, including access to materials such as visitor surveys.

Full training is provided.  You'll be given an introduction to forestry, peregrines and working with the public.  There are also opportunities to attend further training by NESBREC and SCRA.

Volunteers will be given a Forestry Commission Scotland top to wear, and can claim mileage costs where appropriate.

Please note all volunteers are disclosed.
