Judith Webb MBEJudith Webb, Non-Executive Commissioner for Wales

Judith Webb was appointed as a Forestry Commissioner for Wales for an initial term of three years from January 2007.  As of January 2010 she was re-appointed for a further four years.

Ms Webb is self employed providing environmental consultancy, specialising in woodland management & conservation and land-use policy; she also provides facilitator and chairing services.

Judith holds a number of other public appointments as: a Secretary of State appointee to the Cotswolds AONB Conservation Board; an Independent Member of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee; a Non-Executive Director of the National Forest Company; and a Privy Council appointed Lay Member of Council of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

She was, until the end of September 2006, the Chair of Defra’s Rural Development Service and previously a member of the Forestry Commission’s National Committee for England and a member of the FC’s Advisory Committee for Wales until 2004. She has a background in public, private and voluntary sectors having volunteered with the Wildlife Trusts and BTCV and worked as a local authority forestry officer and also for ConFor and the CLA.

Judith Chair’s the FC Wales Audit & Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit & Risk Committees for the JNCC and National Forest Company.
