Timber Marketing

 

Our Timber Marketing Strategy covers the period from the 1^st April 2006 to the 31^st March 2011. We have undertaken to review the strategy annually and any updates will be posted on these pages.

Forestry Commission Wales will be offering around 50% of total timber production for sale through long term contracts over the next two years. These contracts will be offered on an open competition basis.  You can find more information on long term contracts with WHaM on the LTC pages. 

A new hardwood timber marketing officer has been appointed.  FC Wales wishes to develop broadleaf harvesting and marketing across the Assembly estate. If you are interested in purchasing broadleaf timber you can find more details on our Broadleaf Timber page.

Marius Urwin is our Biomass Mass officer based at the WHaM office in Penryhncoch. He had previously served as the Direct Production Contract Manager for Mid Wales for a number of years. He will be responsible for the management of 40,000 cubic metres of biomass harvesting and logistics. To discuss any aspect of biomass harvesting contact Marius.
