Haldon4Horses

Horse riders using the trails at Haldon Forest Park, Peninsula FDHaldon4Horses is a new group of local riders who enjoy hacking through Haldon & Harcombe Woods.

They regularly meet with the Forestry Commission and have agreed to work closer with them to help resolve a number of issues such as access into Harcombe, road signs, etc., as well as contributing towards the further development of Haldon for equestrian users.

Do you have any concerns, ideas, or require information of where you can ride? Haldon4Horses would love to hear from you:

This is something that has been very successful at other Forestry Commission sites such as Vyrnwy and Crychan in Wales.

Go Ape Zip Slide

Please be aware that with the opening of the Go Ape facility a zip slide now runs over the riding trail to the south west of the main forestry offices. Could all riders be careful when riding through this part of the forest.
We have had two meetings with the Forestry Commission to look into the re-routing of the present riding trail to avoid the zip slide. The desired route would mean clearing a new path through the woods which would connect to the Chudleigh road, providing a softer path to ride on. The Forestry Commission have agreed in principle to the new path. The final agreement on the route will have to wait until forest operations have finished over the next few weeks, but it is looking very hopeful - we will keep you informed of progress.
If you want to know when the zip slide is busy on any one day then please call Go Ape on 01392 833437.
