Tonna Bank and Aberdulais Woods, Neath Port Talbot


This project involves the improvement & interpretation of two nearby woodlands in Neath Port Talbot County Borough: Tonna Bank, adjacent to the Neath Canal in the centre of Tonna and Aberdulais Woods, part of the National Trust’s property at Aberdulais Falls. The project is one of several complementary projects promoting this area of the Neath Valley as a focus for the local community & visitors.

The aim of the project is to improve & interpret the two sites to benefit amenity & biodiversity, promote intellectual & physical access and provide opportunities for recreation, training, schools activity & community involvement. The objectives of the project are to prepare plans (including Woodland Management, Boundary Treatment, Water Management & Interpretation) and carry out practical enhancements according to the prepared plans in partnership with Neath & Tennant Canals Preservation Society, The Friends of The National Trust and Groundwork Bridgend & Neath Port Talbot.
