Tylorstown Woodland Project

Located on reclaimed industrial land, project objectives are to improve the quality of the local rivine environment particularly the woodlands and to provide improved access to an existing river walk, so that local communities can better appreciate the river, the woodlands and other habitats. The project also links the community to access initiatives which have been developed in the area and with the local ‘Walking the Way to Health’ initiative.

Proposed works include planting, woodland management to improve age and diversity, construction of paths, gates and stiles, installation of motorcycle and vehicle barriers, provision of interpretation boards and leaflets detailing industrial heritage and environmental history of site, installation of benches and bins, and creation of picnic area with ‘Woodhenge’ feature.
