Project which saw woodland improvement and access to a historical woodland site with Afon Conwy running through it.
Although pedestrian access was in place, the route had become unmanaged and unsafe in parts.
The work carried out improved access to the woodland for local residents, visitors, and school children. A nature trail was developed to encourage social and family excursions, and educational areas for use by local schools created. Dead and dangerous trees were removed, non-native trees were cleared, native trees and shrubs planted, mature trees thinned to reduce shade and encourage natural regeneration, and habitats for insects, small mammals, bird and bat populations created.
Improvements now mean that the route is frequented by local people, visitors and children as they walk to and from a local primary school.
