Review of land managed by Forestry Commission Scotland (2004)
In 2004, a comprehensive review of forests and other land managed by Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) took place. The reasons for the review are set out in the public consultation paper: Review of land managed by Forestry Commission Scotland (PDF 372k).

Public consultation A public consultation exercise sought views from the public on the future of Scotland's national forests. The consultation period ended on 27 February 2004. Over 400 replies to public consultation paper (PDF 372k) were received and several public consultation meetings were held around Scotland (reports on which are provided below). Over 400 replies to the consultation document were received and an interim analysis of replies to the consultation (PDF 751k) was published prior to the final report.
