Head Office
Mechanical Engineering Services (MES) is one of the Bus- -iness Units of the Forestry Commission. The main role of MES is to provide a self-financing machine and vehicle hire service to internal customers in the Forestry Commission. It also provides external mechanical engineering services to the private forestry sector where resources permit. It is based at a Head Office in Stirling, a Territory Office at Dumfries, covering Scotland and a Territory Office at Welshpool covering England and Wales and 10 strategically placed workshops throughout Great Britain.

Head of MES and the Fleet Engineer are both situated within the Stirling office. They are able to provide general advice to service providers, other Government Departments, the private forestry sector or individuals on the subjects listed above.
