Drop-in session, beach car park
What do you like about Newborough Forest? - Everything. Status Quo please. Shade in winter from gales and just as important, shade from sun in summer. Wildlife: buzzards meowing this morning! Fungi. Plants adapted to shade over 50 years. Above all PEACE and quietness. Not available in every day life.
- The unique link between forest and shore and the shelter from prevailing weather and sun.
- Pob dim sydd yna. Pic yr anifeiliaid.
- Everything. The animals.
- The trees, the animals and everything else.
- Peaceful places
- Trees!
- Diversity of species. Open glades. Bird life. Shelter in high winds.
- We like the trees for climbing on and jumping and riding. And making dens in the forest.
- Trees absorb CO2 and give off oxygen. This is very important to me.
What don’t you like about Newborough Forest? - Too many Corsican pine with no understorey in certain areas.
- When there is rubbish on the ground.
- Dog dirt!
What would you like to see changed in Newborough Forest? - More hardwoods and birds and flowers
- Plant more broadleaves in Newborough
- No clearfelling
- Areas that have recently been planted should be left to grow
- More diversity. More open glades. Less gravel roads
- More benches. More bins. More squirrels! We love having fun and it’s great as it is!
- Slow transformation to Atlantic dune woodland by replanting thinned trees with Scots pine and where appropriate oak, ash, alder, etc.
- MORE TREES!
- None. Just leave it alone.
- I wouldn’t like changes because it is lovely. Why do they want to cut the forest down? They are being stupid.
What do you think of the VISION? - If trees are felled from Area 2 what will stop gale force winds from going up to Pen Lon?
- Broadleaves to be planted before pines are felled in Area 2.
- It is a lovely vision all year round!!! x 2
- DO NOT CUT THE TREES!!!
- The vision is lovely winter and summer, day and night 24/7
- The trees are beautiful x 2
