Community group

Cydcoed will only accept bids from properly constituted community groups. The group must have its own account into which Cydcoed grant cheques can be paid, and control of the funds must be at a local level.

Normally, for projects over £10 000 the group must be either incorporated as a company limited by guarantee AND/OR a registered charity AND/OR registered via the Industrial and Providence Societies Act 1965, OR where there is no other appropriate option, a Community or Town Council. Normally, for projects under £10 000 or for projects where claims will only be made in arrears or where other risks are low, the group must just have a legally recognised constitution.

We will not pay grants to unitary authorities, government agencies, profit making organisations, individuals, and Wales wide non-governmental organisations. Your Project Officer can help you set up a group, see  How To Form A Community Group.
