Come and experience the life of a front line soldier based here at Clipstone Camp during the Great War 1914-18.

Follow the trail to the trench and listen to the stories.

Event Start 10.00am - 4.30pm:

New Timetable for the Day as Below:

11.00am - 11.45am - 'Verdun Skirmish' - part 1

10 - 15 minutes  'German presentation' 

10 - 15 minutes  'French presentation'

15 - 20 minutes Skirmish with 'Scènes et Marne'.

12.00pm - 12.30pm  - Children's British Infantry Somme Drill

1.00pm 1.30pm 'German Shock-Troops, 1916' (German Troops in 1916)

German presentation with MG, Mortars, Flamethrower, Grenades, Gas-Drill and small-arms (rifles/pistols).

This presentation will be related to Somme and Verdun and will explain the development of the infantry rôle in the battles of 1916 and the wider development of both the defence and the attack.

2.00pm-  2.30 pm  'British Infantry Drill'

3.00pm - 3.45pm  'Verdun Skirmish'

Essentially, a reprise of the morning slot. The variation would be that the side defending in the morning would be attacking in the afternoon.

4.00pm - 4.30pm  - Children's British Infantry Drill
