Walking trails

With four waymarked routes and miles of other tracks to explore, Cardinham Woods offers plenty of opportunities to blow away the cobwebs.

Cycling trails

Enjoy some off-road biking at Cardinham Woods with the 12km Bodmin Beast blue (moderate) trail and two tough red graded trails.

Bikes are now available for hire at Cardinham Woods and there is also a trail tune service and replacement parts available so your visit to Cardinham isn't hampered by mechanical gremlins.  Visit for details including costs.

Food and Drink

If after exploring the forest you are ready for some delicious, homemade food served in beautiful surroundings then make sure you visit Woods Cafe. You may prefer to bring a picnic or even use one of our barbecues.

There's a play area next to the woods cafe, which is an excellent spot to keep young family members amused.

I love the cycle trails. I haven't climbed the steep red one in one go yet! Perfect day out except we weren't always sure where we might have to look out safely for horses? Lovely cafe and staff

A friend and I took our children for the day out. The weather was great thankfully so we let the kids play in the play area( small but interesting play area) and then had a picnic in the barbecue area by the river. The kids played happily in the stream. There are a variety of walks/ cycle paths to do. We chose the Lady Vale walk which is a suitable distance for kids and pushchair friendly. The only concern was that there were places where the edge of the path was not fenced off and the steep drop down was exposed- something to beware of with very young children. Apart from that- a very wonderful ( and non expensive) place to go!

We came to Cardinham from Saltash for a day out.

The kids loved being able to paddle and playing in the park.

And it was nice to be able to relax
