Warksburn

Warksburn picnic area is situated on the banks of its namesake (which is reputed to contain gold deposits!) Two waymarked forest walks start and finish at the picnic area. Points of interest around the walks include the Black Dyke, a pre-Roman earthwork and a profusion of water/wetland/forest plants and flowers.

How to get there:

Warksburn is in Kielder which is part of Kielder.
Stonehaugh lies approx. 10 miles south-east of the village of Wark, which is situated on the main Hexham to Bellingham road.
Stonehaugh is the nearest town or village.
