Blengdale
 

Blengdale Forest provides a variety of outdoor experiences, from a gentle walk up the valley of the River Bleng to a cycle ride around the forest roads. From the highest points Blengdale offers wild views of Wasdale, Haycock and the West Cumbrian Coast.

How to get there:

Gosforth is the nearest town or village.
OS Grid Reference: NY089064

By Road - A595 West coast road to Gosforth then follow the minor road through Gosforth towards Nether Wasdale. At junction in Wellington follow public footpath north north west into the forest.No parking available at the forest, please park in Gosfoth and walk.
By Train - Nearest station at Seascale 5km west of Blengdale.

What's of interest
Blengdale is home to some of Cumbria's tallest trees with a number of Douglas fir growing to a height of over 50m (150ft) and weighing a colossal 12 tonnes each.
