Hendai

About Hendai

The Hendai (Welsh for 'old houses') trail crosses over a part of the forest where, according to local legend, the old village of Rhosyr lies buried under the sand. Look out for the remains of an old cottage along the way. Access: There are no stiles on this trail.

How to get there:

Hendai can be started from Newborough Beach in Newborough. Newborough Village is the nearest town or village.

From the village of Newborough, take the minor road down to the beach car park

Wildlife

Habitats: Along the edge of the route, in spring and summer, you will see a variety of flowers including the bright blue viper's bugloss and possibly the rare bee orchid as well as many other established flowers.
