Please note: Harvesting operations are currently taking place in Kilbride Forest.
The upper sections of the blue and yellow routes will be closed intermediately during these operations. Please obey all on-site signage and be aware of forestry vehicles, machinery and timber lorries on all access roads in the forest.
These works are ongoing. Information will be updated in due course. (Updated 30th April 2012)
For further information, please contact the Glenbranter Forest Office on 01369 860 703.
This is the longest and most strenuous of the three short waymarked routes in this area.
Climbing above the Clyde View trail, the path takes you through a stand of large conifers and follows the Berry Burn. Turning away from the burn, the trail soon breaks clear of the mature conifer where panoramic views of the Clyde, Helensburgh, Loch Long, Inverkip, and Dunoon are well worth the effort.
See our main pages on forests around Dunoon.
How to get there:
Balgaidh Burn can be started from Kilbride, Glenmorag and Ardyne Carparks in Corlarach which is part of Corlarach. Dunoon is the nearest town or village.
