Black Mountain Bike Route

The Black Mountain Bike Route is for experienced riders only. It has been graded as very difficult and highly technical. The tracks are narrow and difficult with varied surfaces. There are also very steep rises and decents. High levels of skill, experience and off-road knowledge with a high level of endurance fitness is required. This route is NOT suitable for riders under fifteen years old. Both the Black and the Red cycle trails have alternatives on some sections of the route. These will continue throughout the winter. Please observe all signs in the Forest.

How to get there:

Black Mountain Bike Route can be started from High Lodge Forest Centre in Thetford Forest Park. Brandon is the nearest town or village.

The forest drive and entrance is located on the B1107 Thetford to Brandon Road, approximately 4 miles from Thetford and half a mile from Brandon. Follow the Forest Road for about 1½ miles and you will enter the car parking area. A forest access charge applies. (Post code IP27 0AF)
